A connoisseur's bird perhaps
Not immediately beautiful, young gulls are at the subtle end of bird identification but this one struck me as rather elegant in an odd sort of way. Perhaps it was because its colours were so much part of its environment? Having been feeding on a revolting pile of rotting seaweed, it had done well to remain clean.
I was off on a wader hunt and significantly failed to find any decent flocks to peruse and ended up looking at gulls.
Back then to try my hand at fuschia cuttings. Probably too late in the season but one never knows....
