The Monks' Fishing House, Cong
Cong is one of our favourite places. For me it has lots of childhood memories of staying with my auntie and uncle, and we have visited the place many times with our own children . Whenever we come to Cong, we have to see the Monks' Fishing House, which dates from the 15th or 16th century and is associated with the adjacent Cong Abbey. Apparently the monks used to fish through the hole in the floor of the building and then pull on a line which went back to the kitchen in the monastery to tell them when a fish had been caught.
I just think it's one the prettiest places in the world. We were in Cong today to meet up with Sally's cousin and family, and we walked down to the river after a nice lunch. Despite the rain we still had to get to the fishing house, so here's Sal with her mum and Anne-Marie.
