In the night garden....
Today was the longest day indeed as it started with a very early rise (5.30) as D was heading to a meeting in Manchester.
Ele stayed over to help me get Alan organised and once he was off to school we settled in the snug in our jammies with tea and toast. This is the first morning I have sat and relaxed for a while after Alan has gone to school as usually I'm tidying the kitchen, emptying and reloading the dishwasher, hanging up washing and preparing for the arrival of a load of workmen. It was lovely to just chill and chat for a change.
Headed upstairs to get showered and dressed around 10.30 then had an early lunch before heading down to the other house as there was a couple viewing it at 1.00pm. They liked it a lot but once again, they haven't sold their house (infact it's not even on the market yet!) so not holding my breath.
Back up the road for Alan getting in from school. The school had phoned me earlier to say he wasn't his usual sparkling self so wasn't surprised when he came in and didn't want any dinner. He decided at 7.30 that he wanted to go to bed so after the usual wrestling match to get him to take calpol, a drink and a sponge down with tepid water, he was in bed and asleep by 8.15pm! Checked him at 9 and he was much cooler, thank goodness!
Felt really tired myself and after a pizza for tea I was going to head upstairs for an early night with my book when I remembered I hadn't taken any pictures today. Bugger!
Sat at the back door with the outside light on and took some shots of the side garden. It was a strange evening, very still and mild but raining a kind of misty spray. It was very quiet and the air smelt lovely so ended up sitting there for quite a while.
D got home just after 11pm, absolutely shattered. The activity of the last few weeks is definitely catching up with us.
