Be an individual

I was coming back from a job along the ram lines in Edinburgh and heard the mass chatter of Starlings above on the lines that run the electricity along the track.

I was drawn by the lone bird on the second line down who still formed part of the overall song but wanted to be all alone. However, the more I watched the birds move the more I saw each one of them was making their own individual contribution in their own way and still adding to the overall sound. 

Sounds like a metaphor for life where we shouldn't stifle individualism and let them all make their own tune to add to the overall song.
