Unlocked, Rooted, Smaller ROM data moved to a partition on an SD card with reducing storage overheads but with minimal loss in response. Then HTC sent an update which caused the wifi function to die. So I had to start over again at one point it was a Taiwanese, english speaking phone but the market was full of unrecognised applications. Ah well its now working fully including Tango for video chats.
