"Back to the future"
Took this image today but could be from any time in the last 140 years Stoodley Pike in the distance is a 1,300-foot (400 m) hill in the south Pennines, noted for the 121 feet (37 m) Stoodley Pike Monument at its summit, which dominates the moors above Todmorden.
The "new" Heptontall church was built by subscription at a cost of £6.600, in the Victorian Gothic style. The building was made from local stone, which was taken from the nearby quarry at Hell Hole. The foundation stone was laid on the 15th May 1850 and the church was completed by 1854.
