red hat ladies...

...do lunch.

Mum, junior and I were doing lunch in much less dramatic garb and as these gals strode down the street it was yes, too colourful not to dash out and blip.
So this is a potted version of the Red Hat Society story.
Founded in 1997 in the US and inspired by English poet Jenny Joseph's  poem, Warning, which begins “When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple, with a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me, ” today there are 20, 000 chapters in the US and 30 other countries around the world..

When a red hatter has a birthday she dons the opposite, a purple hat and wears a red dress and so it was today, the birthday girl beaming widely.

Their motto is 'Red Hatters Matter'...go the gals!
