Chaos

A chaotic photo which was a reflection of our day. Relaxing at home finally with much-needed wine and sweets and a restless baby in the blanket on the floor.

The day started well with swimming and fun at a popular tourist hotel near the pyramids.

Unfortunately the day rapidly deteriorated when some male Iraqi tourists started filming us, and my friend's 11 year old niece. My friend shouted at them, they denied having photos or video and a fight broke out. We were well supported by other hotel guests and hotel staff.

Apparently a further fight ensued after the tourist police were notified. The offenders were left to spend the rest of the day at the pool and to further intimidate others. We left, and will be taking the matter further.

Not only does harassment of local and foreign women occur by local men, but foreign men come and do this too. I've heard it's very common for men from other Arab countries to come here too to do this.

These men didn't join their tour group to visit the pyramids today, they had other things to watch...
