Roses

R has been disappointed in the roses he bought me the other day because - as often, and unpredictably, happens - they have started to go over very quickly. But I'm still charmed that he bought me a gift, for no other reason than "because", and they gave me an interesting photo challenge today: I wanted to smooth out some of the flaws without turning them to total mush, which required a bit of tinkering around in Lightroom.

With hindsight I should probably have saved the settings as a preset, to apply to my own face the next time I feel the need to take a self-portrait!
