Why?

Why did someone abandon this toaster at a rest stop 30 miles from nowhere?

Was everything burnt or underdone?

Were the wires crossed and only got done half and half?

At least after i took a picture a young man picked it up and took it home. He said to see if it could be fixed or at least recycled into something else.

Still though why here.......
