Flying Pheasant
Grocery shopping this morning - yippee - but I went early so it was very quiet. No queues at the tills either!
We walked into Bramham Park estate to today - I wanted to find some nice coloured leaves and maybe some more fungi.
I did find some nice leaves (see extras) - including a quite spectacular Horse Chestnut whose leaves are turning wonderful reds and yellows rather than the horrible muddy brown caused by the leaf miner infestations which seem to have blighted most of the others.
On the way home we disturbed this fellow - fortunately I still had my camera on AI focus although I had just switched back to single shot mode after doing some bracketed shots. So timing is not great - I wish I had got him completely above the fence, but it happened so quickly I am just pleased to have got the shot. It is quite a severe crop - he was about 50 metres away so barely registers in the full size image.
