India - day 1

All I can say to my first taste of India is wow!
It's an amazing attack on the senses.
We arrived at our hotel late morning after not a lot of sleep on the plane. Got ourselves together a bit then went to explore an area near our hotel. The contrasts are amazing- from super luxury hotels to a little child pulling on your arm begging for food. I knew I would find it hard and I really have. There are poor people laying on the concrete sleeping, outside world renowned shops. The world has gone so wrong. There is beauty in places and sheer ugliness in places.
Tomorrow we start our escorted tour - really excited about that but always in the back of the mind is the poverty which is everywhere. Photo - frangipani - one of my favourites.
