Surprise surprise!

Well several weeks ago I warned my three kids that under no circumstances were they to organise a surprise party to celebrate our thirtieth wedding anniversary! I thought I knew them well enough and that they still feared me enough to pay heed to me!
WRONG!
Under the excuse of going out with the three of them to dinner in a local hotel, we were led like lambs to the slaughter! We were duly transported to the hotel at the allotted time by eldest daughter then led upstairs  (the resturaunt suffered water damage says she so we need to go upstairs!
Once in the door and in a dimly lit room all I saw was a line of folks most of them local, it wasn't until I spotted friends from away back and from far away I realised we had been duped!
Yes folks, with total military precision, our three kids had organised a surprise party. I couldn't believe the complicity of not just good friends and relations but of some fellow blippers who were in on the act. Transpires the bold lot had set up a secret Facebook page which excluded us and had organised the entire thing with music , a buffet, a fantastic cake and God knows what else, They had even set up  a slideshow of photos of us!!!
Being as we celebrated the same date as our late parents, while it was our thirtieth, it would have been their sixtieth their diamond anniversary. Thus the wee Highland cow anniversary cake as you can see has a string of pearls and a diamond in the middle!! They had certainly covered all their bases.
It was a fantastic evening, with a  brilliant mix of ceilidh music, songs by my son & his mate and another lad plus a karaoke , we had a fantastic time.
This was my sons idea as he's less scared of us than his two sisters, but the co ordinator sister took over the rest of the organising while the little one attended to the finer things like the cake and the slide show.
Although I hate surprises this was one I was willing to accept & enjoy . We also got some fantastic presents and cards and for me the icing on the cake was seeing my cousin who was recently widdowed dancing away and enjoying herself and laughing.
Thank you all even you sleekit  blippers who were in on it and didn't let on!
