The Mill Pond at Burley - in - Wharfedale

I am told that a cubic metre of water
weighs a tonne. The water contained
behind the adjoining weir on the River
Wharfe feeds this old mill pond which
now powers a hydroelectric scheme
as it descends back into the River.
One can only wonder how many tonnes
of water stand in this pond or how big
might be the incoming cheque from the
National Grid to this adventurous
entrepreneur when both the delightful
setting and amount of water are left for
others to enjoy as well !
