Magic Kingdom

Hello Disneyland!

a LONG day!

we arrived by boat, so exciting to see the castle across the lake and to get there as the morning parade was just starting out so we had our first glimpses of Mickey, Minnie and co. we used the fastpass system as best we could and saw lots but there were just too many people for our liking. it was all a bit crowded and hard work! we managed to find a few places to just sit down for a bit in the shade, watch the world go by and splash about in water.  one highlight would be the monsters inc laugh floor. how do they do that!? we managed to get a brilliant position for the electric parade at 9pm and the children even stayed awake for that one. Dylan was awestruck, right at the front. Lily had a great spot too climbed up on a pillar! Callie slept for much of the day in the sling, but seemed to wake up every time we got on a ride and opened her eyes to some of the most surreal sights, bless her.

I love Disney. I have such great memories of being there as a child. Its changed a lot in the past 20 odd years. So much bigger now. Its a shame you can't just go up to the characters when you spot them now, and that every meeting involves a queue of sorts as it removed a lot of that spontaneity. I'd probably wait until the children are a fair bit older before going again, but i'd very much like to. :)
