Parapet, downpipe, swan neck - all terms I;ve now heard, but all I want is for someone to stop this water running down the building and into my flat.

Access to the roof is not helped by the seagull attacks - there are nests up there. Not Rancid rang the council pest control people and they say they don't deal with seagulls, and its the wrong time of year anyway cos the chicks can't fly and they'd have to throw them off the building, but we can do it if we want. When I actually got on the roof, waving a brush to protec tfrom attack I found two nests, 1 egg and no chicks. And the gulls calmed down after a while.
