Royal spoonbill resting
A young royal spoonbill Platalea regia resting today at Travis Wetland. Never seen one there before apart from once glimpsing what I think was one disappearing into the reeds. This one was quite happy to be photographed. Interesting to see the spatulate bill - being used for preening.
