Day 142: Charles Bridge

This morning we managed to find our way to the zoo on various forms of public transport with no knowledge of Czech whatsoever. The zoo was the best I've ever been to, absolutely enormous, well thought out and with some very unusual animals. We loved it. The polar bear was swimming around his pool, using the glass sides to kick himself off a tumble turn - it was fabulous to see his huge feet next to the little boy watching in amazement. What a place it was, we were very impressed indeed.
Back into the centre of Prague where everyone speaks perfect English - last night we sat on the balcony listening to a busker in the square getting the crowds singing traditional Bohemian folk songs. Either that or Adele and Westlife songs. The lightweights I am travelling with have been snoozing while I climbed the tower at the end of Charles Bridge and took some shots of the crowded bridge. I forgot about the clocks going back so it was getting dark already - time for a beer then.

Oh, and a Sparta shirt has finally been acquired for the boy. Just need to buy some crystal, a wooden replica of the astronomical clock and a marionette and we're sorted for the souvenirs.....
