Balance

I am not going to win any competitions with this photograph!  I have looked up my book on birds of the British Isles and I think this is a Little Gull, but I am not entirely sure.  The main thing I noticed about this bird is that it appears to have only one leg, and the leg it does have is red.  When it landed it seemed a bit ungainly in its movements but it was only when I checked the photographs later that I realised there is a leg missing.  The bird was on its own and sat for quite some time on the grass near the car, just looking about at the scene.  So I am wondering if it had an accident, but whatever the story it has survived this far, so that's ok.
