Memorable Day
ComiCon Day Two For Sam
Up, breakfast a drive to Reading Station and then a re-run of yesterday. Today we got Sam to the Excel Centre slightly earlier so she could enjoy a longer day.
Clare, Josh and I set off for another day sightseeing in our nations capital.
Tube to St Pauls Cathedral but only a look around the outside, (£62 entrance) without Sam with us.
We then walked to the Guildhall, after marvelling at the Mayors State Coach we entered the Guildhall Gallery. The artwork is truly breathtaking as is the remains of the Roman Ampitheatre beneath the gallery. But without doubt the highlight was the Crystal Sceptre, Henry V's gift to the City of London. Not seen in public since QEII's coronation it is a thing of beauty.
On to the Old Bailey, Royal Exchange, Bank of England, Mansion House, Monument, Billingsgate, the riverside walk to the Tower Of London, Tower Bridge finishing at St Katherine's Dock, all on foot.
We finally caught the DLR and collected Sam before heading back to Reading.
Then car to Aldershot where the "Stevens & Family" party was being held in Aldershot FC function room. Thirty three of forty three turned out and we had a great evening before heading home at midnight.
