Last structure of the barrio

This is Sacred Heart Church, the only remaining building in what was the Mexican-American neighborhood called Golden Gate Barrio. The rest of the buildings were removed beginning in the 1970s for the expansion of Sky Harbor International Airport.

This church still celebrates Mass each Christmas.
