Don't let it get away
Six years ago he entered the world and my life was turned upside down. And how wonderfully it changed. All things now revolve around us as a family. I vaguely remember how I used to be able to up and off whenever I felt like it. I don't miss my old life. I think I've embraced the changes both good and bad. One of the only things I continued for myself was my season ticket at Leicester City FC.
Today we set off to share a day of football together. A big treat for the birthday boy. He already has a favourite Leicester player in Jamie Vardy. How happy he was then to see him score this afternoon. He cheered and jumped into my arms to celebrate our goal which was to give us our one nil victory against Crystal Palace. He sat enthralled by the match for the first time for the full ninety minutes. In previous outings it's been more about the kit, the hot dogs, the trips to the toilet (to get more drinks & sweets) and by the second half he's been playing games on my phone. Not any more.
Today has been a birthday of shared passion and being happy doing things together. I don't think it will be long before this last selfish pleasure will become a family treat too. Happy Birthday Miniman. I love you more....
