A bend in the river

How many more winters will this bend in the river survive ?

I always take a look and its always a surprise its not changing more quickly.  This section in the thumbnail is used by Sand Martins and they have bred successfully several times, Maybe the bend will just get wider and wider rather than the river cutting across the top but I keep waiting for that ox-bow lake to be created
