Original Sin?
Mono Monday: Origin
Today's Mono Monday challenge, as set by Nickimags888 is Origin.
Now, the Apple Macintosh could be said to be the origin of home computing, on the other hand, you could see Steve Jobs as a serpent in the garden of eden. Certainly some Microsoft supporters, seem to like to cast Apple and Steve Jobs in particular as, if not the devil incarnate, certainly a serpent in savant's guise.
Which brings me to the logo of the apple with the missing bite, the cunning serpent and the garden of eden. Of course, for many Christians that decision to eat of the fruit was the origin of the sin from which Christ was sent to redeem us.
Is it just me that sees this an interesting choice of logo for Apple in such circumstances? Was there a faustian pact between Steve Jobs and Mephistopheles?
Genesis 3: 1 - 6
"1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate, 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened"
I hope that no one will take my comments above too seriously, I am not suggesting that Apple or indeed Microsoft are in any way involved in anything nefarious although from time to time when there are software problems it can certainly seem like there might be ...
