Bed time

Ugh, early bed time was still too late...the cold hit me. So, I spent the day in bed, in the company of my manuscripts. Sick time is treated slightly differently here from back home too. Somehow in The Netherlands I always felt that if I was well enough to go, I should go. But here the emphasis is on not to contaminate your colleagues - which makes total sense of course! Also, the flu shot is very very common, to the extend that it can be frowned upon if you don't take it and then come down with the flu. Luckily this is not from personal experience, I still stubbornly avoid taking the flu shot.
