Hopping snail?

I saw this snail trail out of the kitchen window as I was tidying up breakfast. I don't think I've ever seen a broken up trail like this before and it amused ne to think that snails might hop!
Got my blip in early today as it's raid night tonight and I usually forget in the evening on such concessions.
