.....or otherwise known as NZ Carex.

A large genus of more than 1500 species of grass-like plants, commonly known as sedges. At least 70 species are native to New Zealand. I found this one down at a local native park, the red flower spikes caught my eye.

A cold day, 12C, with showers drifting through, it didn't feel at all like spring.
