Seed Pod : Magnolia Soulangeneana Alba Superba

Another conversation with Doughties Hospital Gardener so now I  know that this Magnolia seed pod is from the glorious Magnolia Soulangeneana Alba Superba. The pods, both on the tree & my window sill are opening but as this tree is a native from China. It needs colder climate to get the seeds active.
