India day 4

I really enjoyed Delhi, but Jaipur is totally stunning. Life does not seem quite as hectic in Jaipur and the places we visited today were just amazing.
Firstly we had a brief stop at the Palace of The Winds - a world heritage site which is just an incredible facade in a shopping street. The workmanship was so skilled.
Nextwe went to the Amber Fort - climbing up the hill on the back of an elephant. Although this was very touristy it was great fun - and it saved alot of leg work! The Amber Fort - a mixture of Moghal and Hindu work is incredible.
We then stopped to see the site in the photo - another stunning palace built in a lake. Somehow the hardness here made it even more romantic and atmospheric.
Next was a visit to a carpet maker - beautiful!
Then a break for lunch.
It then started to rain a little which was perfect - so nice to feel the cooler raindrops. Unfortunately it didn't last long. We then visited the City Palace - a huge area within the walled city. Again the architecture was stunning. Inside there we visited the City Palace museum - very interesting but very hot.
Our final visit was the Hawa Mahal and the Jantar Mantar - another world heritage site all about astronomy and astrology. We were not too keen on the latter but the skill with which the structures were made was incredible.
Jaipur certainly is an amazing place - we wish we could spend much longer here, and the Rajastani food is so yummy!
