No idea.....

The garden is looking very sad today, everything is dying back and in the damp and gloom the thing which I noticed most was how many spider's webs we have.  Unfortunately they aren't the decorative kind, they just look like bits of fluff strung carelessly across the plants, and there are no spiders willing to be photographed.

I came across this pretty flower head on a shrub which is almost devoid of leaves and I can't think for the life of me what it might be  -  once somebody reveals it's identity of course I'll know instantly.
