Myrtos

Half way up a nearby hill looking East at Myrtos and beyond. Perfect walking weather through the sandstone hills of southern Crete. Burnt trees and shrubs everywhere and soil erosion makes the landscape look surreal in places and I wonder how anything survives here but it does. Stonechats, coal tits and long legged buzzards hunt the low scrub and pine trees for food.
