Despite his recent experience with unfenced sleeping whilst on holiday when I had to retrieve him from underneath a bedside table the move to a proper bed seems to be going reasonably well. Despite the frequent clanking and rattling he would exhibit in the cot he has yet to significantly damage himself on the inside edge of the bed and so far seems disinclined to test whether or not he can fit head-first through the gap at the top of the bedguard. The presence of Jones the Steam seems to be calming him, unless it's just the absence of some cot-bars to hoick himself up with that are preventing him from standing up during the night-night-cuddle process.
