Svinasfelsjokull

We started with a dawn session on the beach at Vik - although sadly there was no sunrise as such.  However, there were lots of black basalt pebbles, gritty sand, fierce winds and big waves.  Some mono processing to be done there, methinks,

After breakfast, we travelled across vast lava and glacial plains, unfortunately accompanied by steady rain... Our final stop was to take a few photos of one of the glacial tongues on Svinasfeljojull, which is part of the Jokarsalon (?) ice cap. (Apologies for getting the spellings wrong at this late hour.

Tomorrow starts with another early morning trip: this time to the ice lagoon - I can't wait!
