birthday morning run view

birthday - the brazilian way:

- starting off a new decade with a run round the lagoon (see above);
- coming away unscathed from encounters with a hairdresser and a manicurist (despite my oh so limited portuguese);
- shopping in leblon;
- being x-rayed to complete my health checks before I can start work (no day is free from brazilian bureaucracy);
- cake!
- caipirinhas!
- eating a large amount of cow at a churrascaria (all-you-can-meat).
this was so. much. fun. on arrival, you are issued with a card - green on one side ("MEAT ME!"), red on the other ("please.... no more meat"). if you are green, men rush to your table bearing meats until you've had your fill.
