Phigalia Skipper
First of all, thank you so very much for the delightful comments, stars and hearts for my little spider. He's jumped right onto the front page of popular, and I can tell you, he's honoured to be there.
I only wish today's image were as good.
It's a Phigalia Skipper (Trapezites phigalia). I know one skipper looks pretty much like another, but their under wings are different and that's how I was able to make a positive ID.
It's classed as vulnerable, as are most skippers in South Australia.
It's a flighty little thing, and this image is cropped in hard. I shall have to see if I can get back to this spot while they are still flying and get a better picture.
