Oh What a beautiful Morning.............

Another beautiful day of cycling on quiet roads between fields of barley and buttercups, when the distant hills of Hoy, free from clouds, were a deep purple blue and the lochs scattered through the landscape were still like silver mirrors.

If only this weather could be guaranteed to last, but the omens aren't good and this might be our last cycle run in Orkney before we leave if the rains come as promised.

We will miss the easy ability of leaving the house and instantly being in the countryside without having to negotiate 5 miles of busy suburbia as we do at home in Edinburgh to get to green fields.

I was up early this morning to capture this blip of my favourite view of Stromness in the early morning sun.
