In Swithland Wood

Very heavy rain this morning that triggered the flood gauge alarms several times. By 2pm, the sun was out. 

Basil and I came to Swithland Woods for a walk and to take photos. I even put a polarising filter on the camera to try to enhance the colour, as  the oak woods are glowing gold.

It didn't work, For one thing, I don't seem to have captured much colour at all, secondly, the rim of the lens was reflected by the filter on to the sensor, and thirdly, the filter got damp, leading to splash marks and condensation.

All in all, not successful photographically, but a marvellous afternoon's walk.

Maybe I won't use the tripod another time.
