Graffiti on a Derelict Building
11.8C and dull with complete cloud cover, fog, then rain through the afternoon. Moderate breeze.
Apothecary7's day off. Quite possibly even gloomier than yesterday. Certainly very foggy on the roads. We went into Dundee and went to find new halogen replacement spotlight bulbs for the kitchen in the big retail park off the Kingsway. Such jobs have to be done. The reward was a trip to the M&S cafe at City Quay/Gallagher Retail Park for tea/coffee and a scone and pizza purchasing for this evening's dinner. Then I drove round to the former Jute Mill belonging to William Halley & Son Ltd where we had gone on Sunday for dereliction shots. I had the graffiti on a derelict building next to the former mill in mind for today but had to be quick as the rain had just come on. At least there is some colour. I added the tags for the next Derelict Sunday just because :-)
On the way home we stopped in Carnoustie and Maeve the Deerhound waited in the car while we went along to the Post Office to use the check and send service for our passport renewal forms.
After lunch I went out for a brisk 2 mile walk down to the shore road and back home in a loop. Maeve stayed at home and hasn't been very far at all today. Most of her little trips outdoors have been to the garden and back in quickly out of the rain. No harm in her having a rest day.
Later this afternoon I noticed that the potato harvest had begun in the field across the road from the side of our house, but it was too rainy and too murky to get a decent shot from the front windows upstairs.
