Swiss Night Out

Busy day. Is there any other kind? I'm trying to catch up and just feel I'm slipping behind. One of our funders came for a briefing visit. Seemed to go ok.

Then I was a guest at the Swiss Ambassador's Prize Concert in the Balmoral Hotel. Our funders sponsor the prize.

It was a lovely evening. The music was played by a cello, accordion duo. It sounds am unlikely combination but it was really good. Specially commissioned music from a Swiss composer and more traditional Bach and Schumann.

The evening started with a drinks reception and ended with a private dinner in a room with a view, the Castle and Jenners. I sat beside the General Manager, who lives above the shop, and the Swiss Cultural attache. French was spoken, but not by me.

Very enjoyable and I had many opportunities to talk about the important work we do.
