New Book

A friend of Miss Flum noticed an interesting book in the window of a charity shop, so I went there first thing this morning, hoping to buy it. That book had been sold already but I found one that I have been looking out for for years. 

The author is better known for his books on local history of South Edinburgh - indeed, so well are they researched that they are a valuable source of reference. He was kind enough to sign all my copies of his work. This one, published in 1994, is more in keeping with his profession as the Senior Chief Medical Laboratory Scientific Officer in the Department of Medical Microbiology and records the history and development of microbiology in and around the city.
