A precious leaf

A single leaf from a tree of memories....

A maple tree was climbed and crawled over by me and the neighbor kids awhile ago. Being at least 75 feet tall we tried to save it by several means but it was splitting at the trunk and becoming a big safety hazard so one sad day it finally was taken down...

The trunk was drilled, chemicals applied and we thought it was slowly rotting away but it wanted to live, thrive again and maybe someday another child will climb and make more memories....

So one day it was decided to let it be, let it grow and thrive once more. We watched in spring as the leaves grew bursting with life. Now in fall we are watch the glorious show of thanks of letting it be.

At home fixing the computer, setting up a new cell phone, odds and ends that they can't do anymore. Embracing the time while I can.
