STS Leeuwin

What a surprise.  I looked out to sea this morning and there was a sailing ship on the horizon.  It turns out it was the STS Leeuwin and it is a fairly regular feature around these parts.

It was interesting to compare it with some of the other vessels in Gauge Road today.  The heavily laden cargo vessels that have long taken over the roll of the good old sailing ships were steaming in and out of the Fremantle Port.  

The Leeuwin is now used as a training ship and I can remember my niece enlisting for a stint on the vessel when she was in high school.
