Back Beach

I had to take Marian into Teignmouth this afternoon. On the way there were blue lights behind me so I got out of the way and it turned out to be the Royal Navy Bomb Squad. Once in Teignmouth, the southern part of the town was cordoned off with lots of curious people milling around so I parked up and walked round to Back Beach while Marian went off to do her business. 

I wasn't there very long but when I came back the tape had all been taken down and the police were all gone but I hadn't heard a bang. I think it had been going on for a while and I presume the bomb squad when they arrived determined it was all OK.

Later reports tell me it was  an old mortar washed up on the beach.
