Ordsall Hall Head Table.

A visit to a photography exhibition about Salford and the changes the area had been through over the last few decades led to an item much more interesting...

In the great hall stands a table with a big "Do not Touch" sign on it.. The detailing on it was interesting and it was obviously old. Here's the write up:-
The table was made in the 1600s .The carving on the front refers to the War of the Roses, showing both the red rose of Lancaster and the white rose of York. The Welsh dragon shown at either end of the carving represents Henry Tudor and his victory over Richard III of England at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485, which made him Henry VII of England and the first Tudor monarch.
All stirring stuff for a Lancashire lad like me, my emphasis is on the Lancashire rose!
