Romanesco Cauli

Known to me as 'that fancy cauli broccoli thing'. Arrived in the vegbox today. Plan is to terrify the kids with it tomorrow, or the in laws on Saturday.

Big soup making day today to use up the veg I managed not to eat this week. Mr B devoted his time to a quest to track down the last supplies of our favourite oatcakes, which have been discontinued by all the supermarkets down this way. His haul was 12 boxes which should see us safely oatcaked up for the next 2 or 3 weeks.

So tonight I went on a date, which was a bit of a novelty. I even dragged the only mini-skirt that still fits me out of the back of the wardrobe. You'll be relieved to learn, I'm sure, that my beau was Mr B. We tried to have dinner, but the food didn't arrive in time before we had to leave for the movie (Burn after Reading) so we dined on popcorn and Revels. Great movie. Great company.
