A cocky in a gum tree - pure OZ!

Went for a walk with our grandson this afternoon and was about to cross the Goulburn River into the bush when I spotted two Sulphur Crested Cockatoos on the river bank. This one flew up and posed beautifully for me while I fumbled with focus, f stops, distance, etc. I don't find this easy, but was pleased to at least get a lovely white bird with an arresting eye sitting in a eucalyptus. Much to be criticised I am sure. My extra is of the suspension bridge over the river from the bush, known to our local indigenous community as "The Flats". This is where they camped when they walked off the Cummeragunga  Mission in 1939 because of harsh restrictions imposed on them regarding language and culture.
