Egg Hill Sunrise
Today was one of those rare days when I am up before the chickens. I wasn't real happy about that because I am a night person (or night owl, as it were) but I didn't have much choice as I had an early morning appointment in State College.
Seeing the sunrise color over Egg Hill was one of the rewards of this uncharacteristic foray. I am not much for sunrises (they happen much, much too early for me) but I am a huge fan of sunsets. I make it a point to catch them wherever and whenever possible.
I thought this a lovely sight and was happy to see it but I still think sunrises are a bit over-rated. After all, what is a sunrise, but a sunset in reverse? ;)
“There is, I have heard, a little thing called sunrise, in which the sun reverses the process we all viewed the night before. You might assume such a thing as mythical as those beasts that guard the corners of the earth, but I have it on the finest authority, and have, indeed, from time to time, regarded it with my own eyes.”
