Morning coffee
Woke early and went for a morning run through the parks to Coxs Bay and then back to the apartment by way of Jervois Road and Ponsonby Road. Too late for the sunrise, and too early for the cafe crowds. Strangely, there were few birds about.
Later this morning I drove past the most recent addition to the local cafes. Crumb occupies a section of an old Kauri villa in Grey Lynn. A section which almost certain was once a corner dairy shop. Some years ago when I was looking for somewhere to have an office, we did look at possibly buying this building and using the now cafe as my rooms. It would have required a lot of work, and was somewhat more expensive than we wanted. Much less, however, than what it was sold for most recently.
There had been a cafe here during the previous owner's tenure, and the new owner promised to continue the cafe. Young locals are heavy users of Crumb.
An addition to the cafe series.
