Playtime

Our last full day in Karuizawa, before setting off tomorrow for. Matsumoto, we went out again with our friend Sayuri.
She took us in her car for breakfast in a cafe that had been, originally, the summer home of the American Ambassador to Japan.
It is now called Cafe Suzunone and is set in a beautiful woodland.
We enjoyed sitting near the wood-burning stove, as it was a pretty cold and bracing start to the day.
We walked a considerable distance afterwards, exploring the network of lanes, and visiting many of the oldest buildings in the area, before returning to town for a shopping expedition that took us up to midday.
We came across these children who were having a great game trying to cover one another with the piles of abundant fallen leaves in the woods.
They were so happy, being ever so slightly naughty, and this had to be blipfoto of the day.
