Arabesque
I meant to stop off at Gold Coast last time I was here to check out Surfers Paradise and the Andy Scott installation Arabesque but never got round to it. As I was flying into Brissy this time I took the opportunity to stop off on my way south. The beaches were busy, I'm sure pretty much a daily occurrence here! ;-) In spite of the forecasts (bah, weathermen the world over) I wandered GC in a respectable 26 degrees at 9am.
Then it was time to head south to meet up with the lovey Gitama and Jaiya and the irrepressible Flynn. This trip has been a long time in the planning, since March in fact, when I booked my flights. I've been soooooo lucky with the generosity of my Australian hosts, my friends, I can't begin to say. A wee wander to Hastings Point after dinner. Heh, I started flagging soon after we got back. The 24 hour flights (didn't get much sleep this time) hit me like a brick eventually and I fell asleep mid-post. My iPad was toasting warm this morning when I discovered it under me! Heh, lucky to have survived!!! :-)
Onwards and upwards. A cracking first day and as I finally write this the sun is splitting the sky on day 2. The Australia 2015 adventure continues...
